I Don't See The Point

"He is fourteen Edward," Cynthia said softly, "It is the age when you are not really sure about anything, let alone your sexuality. I didn't figure out I was gay until I was fifteen and a half. There is still a chance that he likes guys."

"Yeah, and I'm 17. He's to young" Edwrd sighed. "And I knew I liked guys soon enough"

"That is only three years different. As you get older, an age gap like that doesn't mean that much any more. It is only a big difference when you are younger."

"And we are younger"

"You won't be when you are older."

"We're proably going to be miles apart when we're older"

Cynthia rolled her eyes, "Stop thinking that way. Have you ever thought of just telling him or kissing him and seeing how he reacts?"

"No, this is different from Virgils problem"

"It is not my problem," Virgil growled, "It's my crush's problem."

Cynthia shrugged, "Just tell him. You can't hide it forever."

"I keep hoping I'll get over it, or like someone else"

"I am sure there is someone who has a crush on you," CYnthia said softly.

Virgil glared at CYnthia behind Edward's back.

"Who would like me?" Edward asked, slightly sadly.

Cynthia saw Virgil look hurt and bury his head in his arms once more.

"I mean, I'ts not like I'm anything special. I get average grades, don't look that good, and stuff like that. Theres lot of guys out there tthat are better then me" Edward didn't notice Virgil.

Cynthia could see Virgil stiffen.

Now it was Edward turn to put his head in his arms.

Virgil was trying hard not to leave.

"Oh come on you two. Stop being so low. This is English. It is meant to be fun," Cynthia said.

"It is pointless!" Virgil replied.

"Your one to talk, arguing with the teacher Cindy"

"I was not arguing! I was debating! And debating is fun!"

"It is pointless!"

"I agree with him,. You do it every lesson"

"Because it is fun!"

"Yet pointless!"

"Each lesson it is about something different."

"But yet still pointless each time!"

"It is not pointless!"

"It is!"

"Cindy, you argue too much"

"I do not argue. I debate."

Argue. Debate. Same difference"

"They are different actually," Cynthia replied, slightly annoyed.

"They are," Virgil agreed, "But both pointless."
