Detention I

Seraphina sat down, waiting for other people to arrive. That, and to be told what to do.

Lucius scowled as he came into the hall.

Seraphina had made it clear that she wa sused to this plae. Thsi was, by her count, ehr seventy-third detention since she had come here last year in year 10. She was surprised she hadn't been thrown out yet, actually.

Lucius was only here because of the donation his parent's had made to the school. He was a good-looking guy with dark raven black hair and freckles over his face and arms. He had clear blue-green eyes. He sat down.

Phin herself had short chocolate brown hair, and sharp slate-grey eyes. She was sharpening a pencil lazily, just watching the sharpenings.

Lucius yawned, evidently bored. He pulled out his sketchbook.

Phin was pretty soon sharpened the pencil down to a stub.

Lucius looked around for something to draw. His eyes fell on the girl. Perfect.

Phins tood up, getting the bin, and pushed all the stuff on the desk into the bin, along witht he stump of the pencil.

She left the bin there, and started sharpening another pencil.

Lucius liked drawing. He thought it was very wasteful of her to do that though.

Phin was just very bored. She liked sharpening pencils in the same way most girls liked putting on make-up. She liked feeling as if she was speeding up the time, so the lifepsan of the pencil crumpled before her.

Lucius frowned as the teacher entered.

The detention class stood up, apart from Phin who was still sharpening pencils.

Lucius just slouched more into his chair.

The teacher coughed sternly, glaring at Phin. Phin took no notice.

Lucius was still sketching.

The teacher coughed.

"Miss Seraphina and Mister Lucius! I have entered, so please stand up."

Seraphina shuddered at mention of her real name.

Lucius inwardly smiled. What a lovely name.

Seraphina stood up, muttereing curses under her breath.

Lucius sort of stood.

The teacher set the detention as writing two hundred lines, saying "I must not misbehave", and sat down.

Seraphina picked up a pencil and chewed the end of it. No matter how early she finsihed, she wouldn't be let out until the time of detetntion was up.

Lucius wrote /I must not misbehave x 200/. then got back to sketching.

Seraphina noticed, and her mouth curled into a slight smirk.

"Mister Lucius! Why are you not doing lines?" the teacher ask from behind ehr desk. "And Miss Seraphina, what is so funny?"

"I did them, Miss," Lucius said in his usual dreary voice. He was too lazy to talk properly to her.

The teacher walked over.

"Thsi does not count," she said. "Write them properly."

Seraphina smirked.

"Do not smirk," the teacher scolded her, snapping ehr attention to Seraphina.

"Or what? You'll give me a detetention?"
