Not Back At School Yet

It was late on the first day back at school, most students had arrived earlier, but Jeremiah hadn't. He was in his room, staring at the phone. Finally, he gave a sigh and picked it up, typing in Tom's number and then pressing call, holding it to his ear, waiting for his boyfriend to pick up.

Tom picked up. "Hello?"

"Hey Tom, It's Jeremiah," Jeremiah said softly.

"Hey!" Tom grinned brightly.

"How are you?"

"I'm all right thanks, you?"

"Not too bad, thank you."

"So, what's up?"

"I'm visiting my sister, and so I won't be back at school for a few days. I thought that you would want to know."

"Oh..right...yeah..sure...no problem..." Tom said softly, evidently upset.

"I'm sorry," Jeremiah said, able to hear the sadness. "I'll be back soon."

"Okay...just...I missed you over Christmas..." Tom muttered.

"I missed you too," Jeremiah said softly, able to feeel lonliness inside him. "I promise I'll be back by Thursday."

"Promise?"

"I promise, by seven o'clock Thursday night. No later."

"I'll be waiting..."

"Can't wait to see you..." Jeremiah looked over at the clock on his wall.

"Me neither..." Tom smiled slightly. "I want to give you your christmas present too..."

Jereimah smiled, laying back on his bed, "Same, got yors ready to give you."

Tom grinned into the phone. "You want to talk a bit longer?"

Jeremiah smiled, "Yes, deffinately."

"Brilliant."

"You had a good Christmas?"

"Yeah, Simon had his girlfriend round, but it was good."

"That's good."
