Where are the English rooms?

The tall boy about six foot one stood in the corridor looking down at a piece of paper, then looking up along the corridor in complete confusion.

He looked back down at the paper, auburn hair falling down around his face, trying to work out where he was and where he was meant to be.

He heard foot steps and looked up, giving up on the paper and turning to face the person walking past him.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the english rooms are, please?"

Lucius blinked back in surprise. "Uh...yeah...down to the left and straight on till you reach...why don't I just show you?"

The boy smiled, "That would be great, Thank you."

"I'm Lucius, by the way. And you are?" Lucius asked, holding out his hand.

"Brooklyn," Brooklyn smiled, shaking Lucius's hand.

Lucius turned to walk. "When did you get here?"

"Yesterday evening," Brooklyn fell into step beside Lucius.

"Ah...very new then..." Lucius grinned. "Year?"

"Lower sixth," Brooklyn smiled.

"Cool..." Lucius nodded. "You got any relations here?"

Brooklyn smiled, "A distant cousin."

"Ah...would I know them?" Lucius asked

"Hmmm...not sure...his name is Jeremiah, he's in year eleven and has long auburn hair."

Lucius blinked. "Nope! Don't know him!"

Brooklyn smiled, "He's a bit of a loner, stays by himself quite a bit."

"Probably why then..."

Brooklyn nodded, "He's okay when you get to know him...but he keeps his distance from most people..."

"I don't blame him..."

"May I ask why?"

"Most of the people who come to this school don't actually want to be your friend..."

"oh right...well...Jer was always like it...growing up...he always kept his distance..."

"Just means you don't get hurt..."

Brooklyn nodded, "i suppose..."

"He'll find some close friends and he'll open up..."

"I hope so..."
