Vinnie had caught her up, his eye beginning to swell and bruise. "Vally?!"

Vally had been banging her head against the wall. She looked up at him, a slow trickle of dark blood matting her dark hair.

"Yes," she said blankly.

Vinnie knelt down next to her and stroked the blood away. "I'm sorry I shouted at you...I didn't think..."

"I'm sorry I punched you. And bit you. I did not mean to hurt you."

"Shh...it's okay...but...the only way I'll forgive you is is you date me..."

Vally blinked at him, and then nodded.
"As long as you never call me a b*tch or a psycho again..." she said.

Vinnie nodded. "I promise not to...it wasn't really you I was yelling at...more the pain..."

Vally regarded him warily, and nodded.

Vally got out another joint and lit it, leaning against the wall and relaxing as she took a drag.

Vinnie frowned. "Maybe you should lay off that for a little while..." Vinnie said softly.

"It relaxes me," she said. "I'm part of the campaign to legalise it."

Vinnie lent forwards, stroking her hair. "There are other ways to relax."

"You'd like it better if you didn't have it so often..."

"It'll be my last roll until next week."

"Yes," she said, pulling Vinnie to her and kissing him.
