Star watching.

It was late in the evening and the stars were shining faintly in the darkening sky. The field was silent and empty all for one person.

Tom.

With his blazer on and the sleeves of that and his shirt pushed up he was sitting in the rafters, elbows on knees as he stared up at the sky.

Jeremiah had come out to do some star mapping.

True, his favourite science was chemistry, but he also loved physics and space.

Tom sighed, running his hands over his face, burying it in his large hands.

Jeremiah heard the sigh, but didn't stop from where he was going up to the rafters to get closer to the stars to map them out.

Tom was just frustrated. How did he tell them!?

Jeremiah sat down where he could easily see the stars and the started lightly sketching them out.

Tom heard a noise and froze. Sh*t!

Jeremiah's pencil was lightly scratching the paper.

Tom looked over.

Jeremiah's auburn hair was down as normal, and every minute or two he looked up at the stars to study them and look at where they were.

Tom almost felt his heart skip a beat. In the moonlight and light starlight his hair glowed.

Jeremiah had a small, soft smile on his lips as he worked.

Tom looked away quickly.

Jeremiah had realised that the person must have been someone he knew, even though it might be just be by face, as he could concentrate.

Tom stood up, hoping to make a quick escape. But tripped.

Jeremiah heard and turned, instantly recognising Tom. he got up and went to him.

"Are you alright?" even he couldn't hide the very slight worry in his vioce.

Tom blushed in embarrassment. "I am perfectly fine. Thank you for your concern..."

Jeremiah nodded, but didn't move away.

"Are you in year eleven?" Tom asked softly.

Jeremiah nodded, "Yes. I am."

"Yeah, I was trying to place you in a year...." Thomas said nervously.

Jeremiah nodded, "I am in year eleven. You are in lower sixth, correct?"

"I am," Thomas nodded.

Jeremiah nodded. After a moment, he spoke again in his naturaly gentle voice, "What are you doing up here?"

"I find it much easier to think...yourself?"
