Outside at night

kenneth looked back up at the full moon before crouching and lighting the candles.

Vally felt like an intruder. She wondered if a virgin's blood would be useful in this kind of situation.

Kenneth brought out his knife.

Vally blinked, and then decided just to take another drag. Nothing better for mellowing out that some decent marujiana.

Kenneth scratched some runes into the earth.

Vally blew out a little more smoke. Atmospheric.

Kenneth ran the tip of the blade through each flame.

That seemed pointless, Vally thought.

Kenneth dropped it at one flame as it sparked and landed next to a certain rune.

That was just bizarre.

Kenneth looked over his shoulder at the girl and smirked slightly.

Vally raised an eyebrow condescendingly, blowing another smoke ring.

Kenneth blew out the candles.

Vally took a drag.

Kenneth sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"Is that your mythical ritual done and dusted?"

"For tonight."

"Aha."

"I won't do that till next full moon though..."

Vally looked at the moon.

"Nice night for it."

"Yes...luckily the stars are out too."

"Do you stargaze often? Just for the fun of it?"

"I wouldn't have it any other way."

"Funny... me too."

Kenneth didn't see the funny side.
