Disagreeing

Chanel had sharpened her pencil down to a stump and still she was frustrated. Lies. Everything was lies.

Coco was sitting, accepting that maybe this is what other people thought.

Chanel glanced at Coco, and signed something.

/Lies. All lies./

It was just as well that she and Coco knew sign language.

Coco shrugged. /Just because you don't believe doesn't mean it's a lie.../

Coco withheld a giggle. /You really shouldn't sign that word./

Coco bit down on her lower lip.

Chanel had to bite her own lip to stop herself bursting out in laughter. Like the good days.

Coco smiled at her sister. Who was just about the only one that could make her laugh.

Chanel was convicned the teacher would tell her off at any minute, so started to sign even worse words.

Coco bit very hard on her lower lip, eyes sparkling.

Chanel hastily pretended to start writing down what was on the board, still signing to Coco with one hand.

Coco covered a laugh with a cough.

Chanel flashed Coco a sign, her index, pinkie and thumb all out and her middle and ring finger curved over. I love you.

Coco smiled softly and flashed the same sign back.

Chanel started to work, muttering things about lying government institutions.

Coco sighed. She had a headache.

/Go to the nurse./

Coco shook her head.
