Hiding from the truth.

Coco sat all on her own in the deepest, darkest corner of the library. She was feeling incredibly lonely and unloved that day. But if she read in a quiet place she could escape, pretend she was someone happy and pretty and loved.

Desdemona was in the library. She was wearing her reading glasses on a fine string around her neck, and ehr hair was cut short and rumpled at the back.

Coco was enraptured by the story. Of two people in love. It wasn't her kind of love. Being a lesbian and all...but the way the couple would die for each other. They cared. Neither was alone.

Desdemona picked up a book. Lesbian fiction. She leant against a bookcase, put on ehr glasses, and skipped to the place she had got to last time.

Coco was still to find the lesbian fiction in this library. But she'd bought a lot and had them under her bed. She looked up as she heard noise and blushed.

Desdemona turned the page, one foot against the bookcase as she read. She looked completely relaxed.

Coco looked away, blushing.

She read the fiction cheerfully. It was happy love!

Coco sighed louder than she'd hoped to.

Desdemona looked up.

"Was that a happy sigh?"

Coco blushed and looked away. "N-not r-really..."

"Make it one! Sad sighs are bad!"

Coco nodded, blushing deeper. "S-sorry..."

Coco winced at her lisp.

"Cute lisp," the girl smiled, still half-reading.

Coco went red and tears brimmed in her eyes. She was being teased. Coco started to hurriedly pack her things away.

"Hey, did I hurt your feelings? I meant it," the girl smiled. "I like your lisp. It's sweet. My name's Dez."

"C-Coco..." she answered shyly.

"Lemme guess, there's a Chanel too, right?"

Coco frowned. "Don't take the piss!"

"Hmm? Oh, I'm not. Growing up I knew a pair of twins called Coco and Chanel."

Coco blinked. "No you didn't."

"Try me. Coco and Chanel Laurent. Google them."

"I'm not stupid you know. Coco Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent are designers. My names is Coco Dwaine and my sister is Chanel Dwaine..."

(OOC: I just pulled the name Laurent out of my head. Damn Twilight. )

"No, they were my best friend's kitties. Anyway, I like that you didn't bundle your names together. You dislike being associated with her?"

Coco shook her head, frowning. "We're just...very different people..."
