Hurt. And lonely

"Not for you it isn't..."

She hung upside-down from a branch, watching him.

Robert sighed, bringing his knees to his chest.

She dropped down, flipping to land on her feet, and walked over.

Robert rested his chin on his knees. He needed to find some friends.

Chanel crouched so she was the same level as him.
"Cheer up," she suggested.

"Easy for you to say..."

"You think?"

"Yeah...I do..."

She leant forwrads and kissed him lightly.

Robert's eyes widened and he was about to kiss back but he pulled away. "What are you doing?!"

"Cheering you up," she said, standing up and smiling. "Merry Christmas."

Robert buried his head in his knees. That didn't cheer him up. That made him feel worse. She was mocking him!

Chanel raised an eyebrow, leaning against the bench.
"You ought to be happier, you know. You have it good really."

"It...used to be me and my brother for Christmas...even when grandfather didn't want us around...now...now it's just me..."

"At least your only relative in the world is someone that probably wouldn't have been born if not for you... or you for her. Something like that."

"You have a twin sister...she's alive...cherish her."

"Cherish your grandpa too. I'll neither get to meet either of mine."

"I wish I hadn't met him! He doesn't give a sh*t about me!"

"You wanna be emo then? Fine, go ahead, and have fun moping at Christmas. I am instead going to be happy, enjoy myself, and have a much mroe pleasant time than you."

"Chanel...I like you...I thought I just liked you as a potential friend...I was fooling myself. I properly like you."

Chanel blinked, and raised an eyebrow.

"Ugh! This is why I didn't tell you!" Robert groaned.

"Well come on then, cheer up. I like you like that too, only you seem not to register it."

"Don't lie to me!"
